Based on the report from the Regional Forensic Unit 1, 38 Police Commissioned Officers including PRO 1’s senior officers, and 7 Police Non-Commissioned Officers were subjected to a drug test and all tested negative for use of dangerous drugs.

Region 1 Police Top Brass and Drug Operatives Passed Surprise Drug Test
CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO –Police Regional Office 1 conducted a surprise drug test on senior officers and drug operatives assigned at the Regional Headquarters during a command conference on Wednesday morning, April 12, 2023.
Based on the report from the Regional Forensic Unit 1, 38 Police Commissioned Officers including PRO 1’s senior officers, and 7 Police Non-Commissioned Officers were subjected to a drug test and all tested negative for use of dangerous drugs.
Police Brigadier General John C Chua, PRO 1 Regional Director led the said drug test while all attendees were prohibited to leave the conference room without being tested.
Meanwhile, before the conference, the Regional Forensic Unit 1 also subjected 29 operatives from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit to surprise drug tests and all also tested negative for drug use.
“The conduct of this drug test is a part of our regular and continuous effort in sustaining the gains of the PNP’s Internal Cleansing program,” PBGEN CHUA said during the conference.
“The implementation of our intensified campaign against illegal drugs must start within our organization and I am happy to note that Police Regional Office 1 remains to be a drug-free organization,” he averred. ####
